Slot Allocation

Soon you will know how many Slots   Ironman Cozumel will offer for the 2017 Ironman World Championship.

At least one slot shall be allocated to each five-year age group category in which any age group athlete sends in an application, both male and female, per the age group categories listed. If there are no athletes entered in the race in a particular age group, then that slot will be moved to the largest starting populated age group in that same gender. For additional age group slots, slot allocation shall be representative of the actual number of age grouper applicants in each category in the race.

Athletes must be present at the awards ceremony to claim their slots. You must bring a photo ID and credit card (NO CASH OR CHECKS accepted) for the World Championship entry fee. Further details will be provided concerning the slot winners prior to the race and at the awards ceremony.

Roll Down

Location:Playa Mia Grand Beach & Water Park—Pool Area (Adjacent to the Awards Ceremony).

Time: 5:00pm

If you are an automatic qualifier and are not present to accept your slot, your slot will be passed to the Roll Down.

Any automatic slots not uplifted will pass to athletes under the Roll Down procedure.

Should any slot(s) "roll down" through an entire age group without being claimed, the slot (s) will be assigned to the age group within that gender having the largest number of athletes.

Age group slots may not be assigned to pros and pro slots may not be assigned to age groups. NO EXCEPTIONS..

If an athlete wins a slot, that slot must be used in the same year it was assigned

If an athlete wins a slot, they must pay all world championship entry fees at your qualifying event.

The race organization reserves the right to recall any slots that may have been awarded in error.
